Kerala State Homestay and Tourism Society is an NGO registered in 2008 under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Act 1955. The main objective of the society are to act as a consortium of homestay and tourism promoters for effective coordination in the state and to act as a mediator with the Government, local self Government, NGOS etc. In the important matters relating to the business affairs of the homestays and serviced villas .

In addition to its main objectives, Kerala Hats will carry out various research programmes in the state hospitality sector. The service to Homestays in rural areas where no accommodation and other facilities are available,should be promoted for the betterment of tourism. Homestays and Serviced villas in the rural areas provide only genuine and authentic tourism experience.
